Easy & Delicious Golden Milk Latte Recipe (Turmeric Latte)

One of our favorite drinks during the cold, winter months is a Golden Milk Latte. This warm cup of goodness is not only nourishing but is also packed with rich antioxidants and health benefits. 

What are the benefits of Golden Milk Lattes? 

Golden milk lattes are full of health benefits. Turmeric, the main ingredient that gives the drink its beautiful golden hue, is anti-inflammatory, boosts immunity levels, helps fight free radicals and leaves skin bright and glowy! 

The warming spices of the cinnamon and cardamom also help spark your agni, aka your digestive fire, to help improve digestion. 

What you’ll need (for a serving of two) 

  • 2 cups organic whole cow’s milk (substitute with alternative non-dairy milk)
  • 1-2 cups water to boil down the milk if using dairy
  • 4–6 saffron threads
  • 4–6 crushed green cardamom pods
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • Pinch of black pepper (optional)
  • 1-2 teaspoons of maple syrup (or organic sugar), sweeten as needed

How to make a Golden Milk Latte 

  1. Place the milk and water (if using cow’s milk) in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Crush the saffron with your fingertips and add to the saucepan.
  3. Add cardamom, turmeric, and cinnamon (and any additional spices) to the saucepan. Increase the heat to high, stirring occasionally.
  4. When the milk starts to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Strain the milk if desired, add maple syrup and Enjoy!
